Senior Performance Marketing Manager
In brief
Orca is looking for a talented performance marketer who can help us build and scale the future of boating. If you are a ruthless executor and can scale consumer businesses to millions, reach out to us.
What to expect
Orca is building a modern navigation system for boaters. We are growing rapidly and are seeking a Senior Performance Marketing Manager to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to scale a consumer product to millions of recreational boaters around the world.
By being part of a small, highly focused growth team, you get a unique opportunity to develop your skills, grow alongside the company, and assist in building a high-performing team. While the role is fully hands-on from the start, there is potential to transition into a leadership role as our growth team expands.
This role is based at our Oslo office, but we will also consider outstanding remote candidates.
What You’ll Do
As Senior Performance Marketing Manager, you will own and be accountable for Orca’s app user and hardware acquisition funnel performance.
This includes:
Scale and optimize the acquisition and conversion funnel to acquire app users and customers, starting with Meta ads and expanding to other paid acquisition channels.
Drive content creation and continuously test new angles and visuals to optimize performance.
Gain a deep understanding of our customers through interviews, analytics, surveys, and in-field user testing.
Help set the overarching strategy with the growth team.
Being flexible and assisting in growth tactics such as social media, influencers, press, and in-app growth marketing.
What You’ll Bring
2+ years of performance marketing experience running digital marketing campaigns via Meta, Google Search Ads, or similar platforms. We value results over years of experience, and are open to being convinced by any candidate.
You have the interest and ambition to assist and drive marketing activities beyond performance marketing, and enjoy working broadly across adjacent activities while being the team expert on performance marketing.
Ideally, you have worked with paid performance marketing in a D2C startup or a consumer app and have successfully solved similar challenges.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
You have an empirical approach to making decisions: you develop strong hypotheses, design experiments to test them, interpret the results, and communicate your findings to the rest of the team.
You have an analytical mind and can use data to deeply dissect problems.
You are autonomous, work proactively, and take ownership. You actively expand your comfort zone by exploring new or unfamiliar tasks.
Dedicated and ethical approach.
Big bonus if you have experience with boating.
How we work
We are on a mission to disrupt the marine industry, led by global companies such as Garmin and Navico. This requires setting the right direction, having a sharp focus, and delivering quickly. We can do this only by bringing out the best in each of us. We help each other, but also hold each other accountable to reach our very best.
We are pragmatic about processes. We think of them as organic and evolving systems. We measure the success of a given process by looking at its impact on employee or customer happiness and satisfaction. This is a never-ending process that we expect you to contribute to.
Orca is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer; everyone is welcome on board. We are a multicultural team, and English is our communication interface. We have a hybrid culture: while we have a strong remote culture, we strongly believe in the benefits of co-location. The team operates out of Oslo and Madrid with a few employees working remotely in other countries as well.
About the Team
You will be joining a small and close-knit team of industry veterans. We’ve been working in this space for years and have several successful startups behind us. Our core experience is product development, software, and hardware engineering.
Feel free to reach out to us if you want to know more about what we do.
