Orca’s Growth Team is a cross-functional team that operates across the entire surface area of the user journey, from ads to influencers, partnerships, design, website, and in-app conversion funnels.
The team is fully responsible for all matters related to user acquisition, upselling, purchasing, promotions, and analytics in the Orca App, the Orca website, email automations, ads, and the backend infrastructure that glues these experiences together.
About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Growth Engineer with React Native and React experience to join our Growth Team in Oslo. This role will build conversion and growth experiences in the Orca app and the Orca website that drive user acquisition, retention, and revenue. This is a business-critical area of the company, where accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
Your work spans the entire user journey from web to mobile. You will work with the growth team to ideate tactics and improvements to scale Orca’s revenue via funnel optimizations, implement product changes that drive growth and adoption, and deploy analytics to measure the results of our changes.
You should be motivated by driving improvements to conversion metrics, enjoy the mix of ideation and execution, and be comfortable driving work and results forward independently in a small team.
In this role, you will
Build growth-oriented features and iterate on key conversion funnels in the Orca app using React Native.
Improve our e-commerce website and other web experiences using React.
Deploy backend code on Firebase to support feature development.
Create, maintain, and tear down A/B tests while maintaining oversight of all active permutations of the user experience to avoid interfering experiments that lead to broken experiment results and broken user experiences.
Take full ownership of growth features, from ideation with the growth team to development and measurement, with lots of freedom to innovate.
Improve our cross-platform analytics stack, implementing analytics precisely according to definitions, and maintaining accurate documentation of user behaviour events.
This role fits someone who has
5+ years of development experience, including at least 2 years building apps with React Native.
Deep understanding of TypeScript, React, and modern front-end patterns.
Experience building backend functionality with Firebase or similar platforms.
A sharp eye for UI details and a strong focus on reliability and maintainability.
Proven ability to build high-quality solutions independently.
Exceptional ability to manage uncertainty, define clear requirements, and drive toward clarity through fast iterations, learning, and sharp problem framing.
How you will be evaluated
In the first 6 months, success looks like:
You have built and concluded several conversion experiments with a positive impact on conversion rates.
You have built customer-facing growth and acquisition features that positively impact user acquisition, feature adoption, and retention.
You deeply understand our business model and key metrics, have identified and closed gaps in our analytics coverage and documentation that help the growth team make better decisions.
You work independently with your own code contributions, have established strong internal trust, and collaborate effectively with the rest of the organization.
