What to expect

Orca is building a modern navigation system for sailors and cruisers. We are growing quickly, have an exciting journey ahead, and are looking for a Senior UX/UI Product Designer to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in the success of Orca. 

As a Senior UX/UI Product Designer you will have the opportunity to lead the design direction of the product and create intuitive and visually stunning interfaces that delight our users across mobile apps, web, and our own Orca Display.

The ideal candidate has the technical acumen to craft delightful experiences, communicate effectively with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, has excellent time management abilities, and is passionate about having an impact on users. This role directly supports Orca’s mission by ensuring our customers love Orca products. To succeed at Orca, you must be energetic, highly organized, and hard-working.

What You’ll Do

Product

  • Conduct user research to understand user needs, motivations, and behaviors.

  • Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to communicate design concepts and ideas.

  • Design elegant, intuitive user interfaces that align with our brand identity and product vision.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and iterate on designs.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UX/UI design.

Ecom & Marketing

  • Design visual assets to support campaigns.

  • Design and creation of visual assets to drive our email marketing and social strategy

This role is a hybrid/on-premise role at our Madrid or Oslo office.The startup nature of the team provides many different opportunities for you to make an impact, and develop yourself.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience as a UX/UI designer for a consumer app.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.

  • Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Dedicated and ethical approach.

About the Team

You will be joining a small and close-knit team of industry veterans. We’ve been working in this space for years, and have several successful startups behind us. Our core experience is product development, software, and hardware engineering.
